My son has been working with Josh to learn both acoustic and electric guitar for many years. He was in 4th grade when he started and is now in high school, so he knows how to work with any age. I really appreciated the fact that Josh required my son to learn how to read music, rather than just memorize a song like a lot of teachers. This allows my son to work on his own with other songs outside the studio when something appeals to him. Josh is doing something right because in all these years, my son has never once complained about going to practice…that says something. He is up for working on any tune and has a very calm demeanor that I think a lot of people appreciate in a teacher. Hearing the music in the house as my son plays, practices or just fiddles with his guitar every day is really a wonderful treat, and Josh has helped foster my son’s love of the guitar.
